Wedding Venues Guide ("we", "us") operates weddingvenuesguide.co.za, an independent directory of venues in South Africa. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the site, why, and how it's handled, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect

We collect very little, and only what you give us directly:

• Enquiry forms. When you enquire about a listed venue, we collect your name, email address, optional phone number, and message. There's a hidden anti-spam field; it doesn't collect anything about you.
• Analytics, only if you accept. The site asks before loading Google Analytics. If you accept, Google receives page views and sets a cookie so we can see which guides and listings are used. Decline and that tag is not loaded. The choice is stored in this browser.
• Standard web logs. Our hosting provider may log basic technical data (page requests, browser type, approximate location from IP) the way most websites do. We don't use this to identify you personally.

We don't require accounts, and we don't collect payment details on this site.

How your enquiry is used

When you submit an enquiry, it is emailed to us by Web3Forms and also posted to our own mail system. A couple enquiry is also emailed to the address we have on file for that listing, so the venue can reply to you. An address someone types into the page is not used as the recipient. We don't sell your details, and we don't share them with any other venue. Listing requests go only to our inbox.

Retention

We keep enquiry records for as long as reasonably needed to handle the enquiry and resolve any dispute or support request related to it, then delete them. We don't keep a standing marketing list from enquiry form submissions.

Your rights

Under POPIA, you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@weddingvenuesguide.co.za and we'll action it promptly.

Third parties

We use a hosting provider, Web3Forms to deliver form email, and our own mail system to pass an enquiry to the venue on file. Google Analytics runs only after you accept the notice on the site. These providers process the information as needed to deliver that service.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
