Wedding Venues Guide ("we", "us") operates weddingvenuesguide.co.za, an independent directory of venues in South Africa. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the site, why, and how it's handled, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect

We collect very little, and only what you give us directly:

• Enquiry forms. When you enquire about a listed venue, we collect your name, email address, optional phone number, and message. There's a hidden anti-spam field; it doesn't collect anything about you.
• Standard web logs. Our hosting provider and any analytics tool we run may log basic technical data (e.g. page requests, browser type, approximate location from IP) the way most websites do. We don't use this to identify you personally.

We don't require accounts, and we don't collect payment details on this site.

How your enquiry is used

When you submit an enquiry through a listing's "Enquire now" form, it's sent to us by email via our form processor, Web3Forms. We forward relevant enquiries to the specific venue you contacted, so they can respond to you directly — that's the whole point of the form. We don't sell your details, and we don't share them with any venue other than the one you enquired about.

Retention

We keep enquiry records for as long as reasonably needed to handle the enquiry and resolve any dispute or support request related to it, then delete them. We don't keep a standing marketing list from enquiry form submissions.

Your rights

Under POPIA, you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@weddingvenuesguide.co.za and we'll action it promptly.

Third parties

We use third-party services to run the site — a hosting provider, a form-delivery service (Web3Forms), and optionally a privacy-respecting analytics tool. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their service to us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
